Individual Therapy

Individual Img 1You’re exhausted, short-tempered, anxious, and depressed.

Every day feels like a lather, rinse, and repeat of the previous day. You wake up, dress, have a few rushed interactions, and then the day drags on without a sense of purpose or meaning until the sun sets.

Then, the same thing happens all over again the next day. You are struggling to “do life.”

Your relationships are suffering, and you’re not the parent or partner you ever imagined you’d be. As much as you try to listen and connect, you feel distracted and empty. As much as you’d love to be the perfect parent, you hear the tone in your voice and see the disappointment on your kids’ faces.

Bedtime isn’t spent relaxing and recharging. Instead, you find yourself scrolling through your phone, tossing and turning, thoughts ruminating through your mind. And sex? It’s more of a chore now, and you find yourself making excuses not to be intimate.

… hoping tomorrow will be different. If things don’t change, you know what’s at stake.

You’ve felt your partner pulling away.

The relationships you want with your children are fading.

You wouldn’t be surprised to see your job posted on Indeed.

Your friends will eventually stop texting and calling.

It’s not that you haven’t tried. You’ve read self-help books and listened to inspirational podcasts.

But it hasn’t been enough. You’re trapped and need help to break free.

There’s who you are and who you are becoming…

And therapy is the bridge between the two.

We’ll develop a close, therapeutic relationship.

The most important ingredient of your success in therapy is the quality of our relationship, and that’s where we’ll start. We’ll develop trust and understanding with each other, giving you the safe space you need to open up. We’ll talk about you and your life: what you want, what’s been holding you back, and what you’ll need to realize your dreams.

We’ll focus on your strengths.

By focusing on your strengths, we can rebuild a sense of confidence that will help carry you through the growing pains of understanding how to make lasting changes in your life. Using what is known as a “person-centered approach,” I’ll encourage you to explore outdated ways of thinking and embrace new behaviors that align with your values and beliefs.

We’ll identify your goals.

Most people have a vague idea of what they want, but as we work together, we’ll hone down the specifics of what you really want to achieve and how to get there. Sometimes, there might be a little homework, but most people enjoy getting to know themselves through surveys and worksheets.

We’ll release past traumas.

Unprocessed trauma can hold you back from living the life you desire. As I customize your care, I will create a plan that uses Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to challenge thought processes, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), or even art therapy as a way to help connect past events to current behaviors.

We’ll silence the chatter in your mind.

Mindfulness isn’t just a buzzword. Learning the skills of meditation and how not to attach to distracting thoughts is the gateway to quieting endless looping thoughts. We will work through breathing exercises, connect your mind and body, and identify stress, anger, and fear before they turn to anxiety or overwhelm.

It’s time to simplify your life and put yourself first.

I know you’re used to putting everyone else’s needs before your own, but we need to prioritize YOU right now.

You have every right to a happy and content life, and therapy can give you a deeper understanding of how and why things aren’t working and what needs to happen to get you on a path to peace.

Whatever ideas you may have about therapy, toss ’em all out. This is your story, and your experience will be unique. I’m committed to creating an individualized therapeutic process just for you.
